Petres
A large beach to Episkopi, which is reflected in a fertile plain with extensive olive groves. The beach of Petre is so named from the Petre’s gorge where it contains some coves which have sand and many rocks , discovering the ocean. Around the beach there are several infrastructures such as rooms, taverns and diving facility.
Geropotamos
It is a large river into Geropotamos beach at the point where Avlona used to be, where it forms an important wetland. It’s name means Sacred River and it is an admirable place to visit the gathering of waters from many tributaries of the northern part of Psiloritis.
Spilies
Also known as the beach of Kitrenosis or Tou Maliou, Ryaki is relatively unknown despite the beauty and peace it offers. The beach consists of pebbles and crystal clear deep water and is protected by high vertical rocks. The endangered Mediterranean Seal finds refuge there. It is an ideal area for relaxation and recreation.
Daphnoruma
It is a beach between Bali and Skepasti Mylopotamos. Dafnoruma means runnel and together with the hundreds of oleanders they end up in the sea. It is formed by successive rocks and impressive mirror-cliffs with a smooth surface. It consists of small caves that provide shade and relaxation to visitors.
Rethymno Beach
The sandy and fully organized beach that reaches Skaleta provides safety since there are lifeguards at every point. Near the beach of Rethymnon, there are taverns, accommodation and supermarkets for any need.
Panormo
Quiet traditional and tourist resort, picturesque with beautiful sandy beaches. It is considered a natural harbor with calm waters. It is worth visiting Limanaki beach where it is located in front of the village under the ruins of Mylopotamos Castle. Also, the beach is organized with umbrellas, showers and taverns.
Gerani
Beach located in the west of Rethymnon and is an admirable bay with pebbles, while is one of the least organized beaches. It is worth visiting this bay to admire the beautiful little church that is on the sea as well as the landscape of mountain and sea together.
Georgioupoli
Georgioupolis is located on the border between the Prefecture of Rethymnon to the east and the Prefecture of Chania to the west, while it belongs to the latter. The area around Georgioupolis is Apokoronas with its picturesque villages and lots of greenery.The river Almyros flows into Georgioupolis, while shortly before it forms a small lake that is home to many birds and animals. The lake can be seen from the national road as you approach Georgioupoli from Chania.
